Lunds is the home of quality sheet metal work in Sussex and we have been providing sheet
metal fabrications since 1898.
Originally sited in Bendon Valley, Wandsworth, and founded by the Lund brothers in 1898, the company moved to it's present premises
in Rustington during the early sixties. We celebrated our centenary in 1998 and have moved on from strength to strength since then.
The company has undergone many ownership changes since the beginning and is presently owned by the Chatsworth Forge group of
companies.
Since the beginning we have undertaken an investment programme that ensures we embrace new technological advancements to
provide you with an efficient, rapid and high quality service.
From initial design to product delivery, via our own reliable transport, we pride ourselves on the working relationships we build with
our customers.
With over 50 skilled employees in four cutting edge factory units, all based at our Rustington site we have the capacity to meet the
demands of the present market place.
Our CAD designers have a wealth of experience in designing practical products from sheet metal and fabricated sections. Using the
latest version of CREO we can read most types of CAD data from other file formats.
Lunds are unique in introducing shop floor computer systems to allow our skilled fabricators to see and manipulate the visual 3d data
on their screens. This allows for a clearer understanding of design intent and increases accuracy.
Our range of standard brackets for London Underground
From its conception in 2003, the Lunds bracket catalogue has been the de facto reference for the rail
transportation industry. Working with L.U.L. contract engineering staff we have designed a range of strong
and versatile brackets to support most structures, from the humble speaker to the heaviest VEID units.
We are increasing our range of standard brackets to reflect the new designs in VEID units, cameras and
speakers. The catalogue is available for download and is an invaluable source of information for the specialist
contract engineer. Go to our downloads page to get your copy.
Advanced assembly for flight simulation.
Lunds have been awarded the contract for the high level builds of the cockpit module for
a leading manufacturer of full flight simulators, L3 based in Crawley.
This involves the full mechanical assembly of the module, including wiring, the fire
suppression system and controls, structures and trim integration. This prepares the
cockpit module for integration to the motion system and the rear instructors cabin.
Working mainly on BOEING simulators, we will be starting the new B737 Max shortly and
have also assembled the B787 and the ATR72.
